The chakra system, originating from ancient India thousands of years ago, is similar to China’s meridians and acupoints—mysterious yet real, profoundly influencing one’s mind, spirit, emotions, and physical state. The 7 chakras are increasingly recognized and promoted by global scientific, spiritual, and mind-body research fields. They acknowledge that understanding and opening the chakras can significantly impact our physical and mental well-being.

Understanding Chakras

The concept of chakras is quite easy to grasp: within our bodies are 7 energy centers, named the 7 chakras because they are shaped like spinning wheels.

These chakras can receive and transmit energy related to our spirit, emotions, or other functions, each corresponding to a different light color. The chakras’ activity levels are akin to our organs’ health levels.

When the chakras are open or active, they are functioning normally, and the related energies, organs, and states of mind and body are in a positive state.

When the chakras are blocked or inactive, they are not functioning properly, leading to negative states in the related energies, organs, and overall well-being.

Balancing Your Chakras

Ideally, all chakras should be balanced to positively affect our physical health, emotions, and feelings.

However, in reality, many people have chakras that are either underactive and thus ineffective, or overactive, both of which require appropriate adjustment.

What Are the 7 Chakras?

1 – The Root Chakra

This chakra is about survival, basic human needs, the ability to live grounded, and connection to the earth.

The Root Chakra, as the foundational energy center among the 7 chakras, is related to vitality (physical health), the maintenance of life (sense of security), and survival (such as family, work, career, financial status, etc.).

The Root Chakra

When the Root Chakra is bright red, round, and clear, it indicates a great state. Your life flows smoothly according to your pace, and you enjoy it.

If it becomes blurred and fluctuates, it indicates pressure related to survival. You may feel stressed about changes or decisions related to family, work, or finances.

Any stress related to family or work can be reflected in the Root Chakra. The external environment affects the inner state, often shown by the Root Chakra.

If this chakra is small, murky, and constantly changing, it indicates obstacles in skills, work, or finances. This is a good time to rethink your position and what is most important in life. You need a new energy infusion at this time.

2 – The Sacral Chakra

This chakra is about life vitality, emotions and feelings, sexual desire, and enjoyment of sensory pleasures.

The Sacral Chakra relates to sexual energy, emotions, and relationships, possessing the energy for creation, production, and innovation.

If it glows bright orange, round and clear, it shows a healthy, positive emotional life, sexual life, and interpersonal relationships, with clear feelings and positive emotional transmission.

If slightly blurred, it means issues in sexual energy or emotional stress in relationships. The degree of change corresponds to the level of stress.

If yellow light appears in this chakra, it means you are focused on handling life changes, possibly in relationships, emotions, or even pregnancy (for women).

When the Sacral Chakra is small, murky, and dark, it indicates emotional and creative blockages, possibly showing a murky yellow-brown aura. At this time, your emotions and body might be exhausted.

3 – The Solar Plexus Chakra

This chakra is about confidence, self-recognition, self-worth, action, personality development, influence, and power.

Located above the navel and below the chest in the stomach area, this chakra is related to self and psychological states, reflecting self-esteem, self-confidence, self-recognition, self-awareness, personality, and personal power (such as authority).

It shows how you perceive and evaluate yourself. When it glows bright yellow, round, and clear, it indicates an excellent personal state, possibly having control over external situations.

You are satisfied with yourself, confident, and clearly aware of your needs in life, focusing on achieving current goals.

If this chakra is blurred and constantly changing, you may be doubting your abilities, lacking confidence or self-recognition, or going through a self-revaluation process.

If this chakra is small, dark, and murky, it indicates the need to sort out your relationship with yourself and boost your self-energy and sense of value.

4 – The Heart Chakra

The Heart Chakra, positioned at the center of the 7 chakras, acts as a bridge between the lower physical chakras and the upper spiritual chakras.

The Heart Chakra

When the Heart Chakra is a clear and round green light, it indicates an open, friendly, and loving state of mind. The Heart Chakra is closely related to relationships.

You can handle emotional communication with others positively and healthily, full of friendliness and understanding. You care for yourself and others equally, which is healthy.

If the Heart Chakra appears muddy or dark green, it indicates that your heart is closed, and the flow of love energy is blocked. You can’t feel the true flow of emotions and can’t genuinely understand yourself or others.

If the Heart Chakra is murky or has gaps, it might indicate a heavy emotional experience in the past or present. You need to try to release this negative energy or forget these unpleasant things.

You can learn to express your feelings, release emotional pressure, or focus more on yourself before caring for others.

At this moment, trying to love yourself and opening your heart is the most important thing.

5 – The Throat Chakra

This chakra is about the ability to express emotions and feelings genuinely, self-expression, creativity, communication, and inspiration.

When the Throat Chakra is clear and bright, it indicates that you can express yourself correctly. You can express your emotions and your true self.

If the Throat Chakra is dark and round, it shows that although you can speak out, you are going against your true wishes. For example, you want to say something but dare not speak directly.

The shape and size of the Throat Chakra can measure self-expression. If the Throat Chakra becomes larger, it may indicate that you are trying to tell the truth and speak from the heart.

When the Throat Chakra is murky and small, it means you are not truly expressing your opinions. When the Throat Chakra is not in balance, try writing down your thoughts. Writing them down and honestly looking at what you’ve written can significantly help with self-expression and self-healing.

6 – The Third Eye Chakra

This chakra is about intuition, extrasensory perception, spiritual awareness, mental and willpower, and wisdom.

The Third Eye Chakra

When the Third Eye Chakra is clear and round, it should appear as a beautiful violet or indigo color. The more beautiful the shape, the stronger the intuition and perception (sixth sense).

Sometimes, the Third Eye Chakra becomes very small, indicating that the sixth sense is closed, or there is too much mental stress suppressing intuition.

You can judge your spiritual awareness and intuition by the size and shape of this chakra.

People with standard red, orange, or yellow auras especially like analysis, logic, and reasoning. But remember, this is just one part of “feeling”; many things do not follow logic.

7 – The Crown Chakra

The Crown Chakra is considered the highest and most spiritual of the 7 chakras. It is associated with higher consciousness, enlightenment, and connection to the divine. As the seventh chakra, it represents the peak of spiritual awareness and the integration of all other chakras.

The Crown Chakra

A white and clear round Crown Chakra indicates a strong connection with spiritual realms, the divine, and higher self-awareness.

If the Crown Chakra is small and murky, it indicates a need for spiritual practice.

This person may be overthinking or too scheming, leading to the persistence of negative energy. It is suggested to let go of mental anxieties and pay attention to one’s feelings, which can enhance spirituality.

Remember, spirituality is about “feeling,” not “thinking.”

Bottom Line

The 7 chakras are vital energy centers that significantly influence our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Regularly observing and nurturing these chakras can help maintain a healthy balance in life, ensuring the smooth flow of prana, or life energy.

Taking time to focus on aligning the 7 chakras not only enhances overall health but also deepens your connection with your true self, unlocking inner wisdom and divine potential.
